Elle’s Athletic Law Case
Elle was a fitness trainer in her 40s who was “T-boned” while proceeding through an intersection she travelled almost every day on her way home. Her vehicle flipped over and as she lay upside-down still wearing her seatbelt, she smelt smoke and wondered if she would die in a car fire.
She extracted herself from the wreckage, and due to her adrenalin pumping, she refused all medical aid.
She went home and slept much more than normal for many weeks. Her relationship with her partner suffered and she lost the ability to teach powerlifting classes for a number of months. Eventually, she had to shift her focus at work to a different type of fitness training, and lost a number of her clients.
Before she retained Resolute Law Group, Elle was told by the other driver’s insurer that her claim was “soft tissue only” and therefore she was entitled to a payment of $4,265 only.
When Elle retained Resolute Law Group, we identified that she had a significant problem with nightmares, anger, and a deteriorating personal relationship with her partner. Elle obtained psychological counselling, along with getting her medical benefits from her own insurance company reinstated with our help.
Four years after her accident, we resolved Elle’s claim for $160,000; $156,000 more than she was offered by the insurance company. Elle continues to suffer chronic pain but has ample funds to pay for ongoing treatment; her fitness training business has blossomed and she remains in a healed relationship with her partner.
