An Uninsured Driver

Lesley was a new Canadian simply  in a crosswalk with a walk light when she was struck by a truck turning left at the intersection. She suffered significant injuries, including a fractured pelvis, but remained hopeful that she would recover quickly.

Mark, the driver, was deeply remorseful but said he could not see Lesley because of the darkness and the colour of her skin. He also believed the truck he was driving, his brother’s –  was insured.
